Brian Champlin - Succulent Cafe

In 2011 Brian opened Succulent Cafe and Trading Company in Solvang with his wife and fellow chef Cynthia Miranda. In an effort to bring the Valley on par with what is found in Napa and Sonoma, their restaurant offers a high scale of taste that compliments the wines of this region. Brian’s food passion is Charcuterie. He loves the preservation of local and seasonal foods, whether it be smoking or drying meats, pickling vegetables or jarring jams. Succulent Café is located at 1555 Mission Drive in Solvang.

Blair Pence’s love of wines has been three decades in the making, the last of which has been spent developing 38-acres of his working ranch into an organically farmed premium vineyard and winery. Led by winemaker Sashi Moorman, Pence Wines strives for honesty and elegance in a wine that reflects the beauty of the landscape, the richness of the clay soil, and the abundance of sunshine all contributing to the profound mystery Mother Nature has to offer. Pence Ranch is located at 1909 West Highway 246 in Buellton. They offer private tours and tastings by appointment and plan to open a tasting room in the Fall of 2014

In 1988, fifth generation farmer Chris Cadwell took over his family’s remaining undeveloped fourteen acres of hillside property overlooking the Pacific Ocean’s Channel Islands in Carpinteria, California. Since 1850, no Cadwell had a desire to work the steep piece of property until Chris, his wife Cornelia, and their five children began cultivating it for Organic Garlic. They decided on the farm’s name, “Tutti Frutti”, Italian for “All Fruits” and have continued growing organic produce for the coastal communities of Southern California since.
